Resident Sweet Tooth Glassworks artist known as “Shenaniglass” began buying glassblowing supplies from STG IN 2013…and we knew instantly he was part of the family! He is the ultimate team player, and we are so grateful he chose us.
Whether it’s assisting customers, fellow staff, glassblowers, or friends and family, Shenaniglass is always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.
And if you’ve met him, you certainly know why he goes by that name! If you haven’t gotten up close and personal yet, you’re bound to have seen him on West 11th street, decked out in costume! Just one of the many ways he brings a smile to people’s faces and draws them into our shop community.
His trademark glass piece? The “snorkel.” It’s a unique type of mouthpiece/dab straw. This guy is also our only resident artist with his own line of bubblers made right here in the STG studio.
Lots of glassblowers don’t make the kind of bubblers he does because they take so many steps and require a great deal of patience and skill. But Shenaniglass is committed to producing these awesome pieces, and the Sweet Tooth Glass community is the only crew that has access to this line (for now!).
You can check out pictures of his work in our December 2021 blog post. Or better yet, come to Sweet Tooth Glassworks today and see which of his custom bubblers or mini-bubs speaks to you!
What Else You Should Know About Shenaniglass…but Don’t!
1. You’re most likely to see this guy emerging from the hotshop at 6a after a graveyard shift behind the torch.
2. Shenaniglass isn’t only a glass-smith. He’s also a talented carpenter, songwriter and player of all things strings.
3. One day he hopes to create a line of designer glass lava lamps!
