If you have ever noticed our critter pendants, murrine glass work, or glass bead work, chances are good that you would be completely wowed by Sweet Tooth Glassworks hotshop resident glassblower and artist, Tara Roberts and all of her amazing work.
A Georgia native who grew up around beader grandparents, Tara was into art and fashion at a young age, and by 20 was working as a fashion designer. But it wasn’t until she went to a bead show in 2000 that she saw an old woman making soft glass beads and started experimenting with glass bead work. She bought a kiln, some glass, and a minor torch – and has never looked back.
Over the years, Tara has continued to expand her artist repertoire – she’s well-known for her sculptures, murrine work, and bead work, but also creates cosplay hats, gloves, scarves, and pendants that have made her Etsy business quite successful. We’ve worked with Tara since 2017, and we hope the collaboration never ends.
Three Fun Facts about Tara…
- She has pet chickens, and when she’s working or doing yoga, they hang out with her.
- There are no smoking pieces in her work – everything she makes is either art or part of her clothing line.
- She was a customer before she started working with us! Tara started shopping at Sweet Tooth Glassworks in 2012!
